Bidar is a city in the state of Karnataka. It is also called as crown of Karnataka. Headquarter of the Bidar District, it shares its borders with Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. In ancient times it was widely renowned for its learning, culture attainments and political power. Bidar is mainly known as a great medieval city and capital of the Bahamani and Barid Shahi dynasties. Bidar city is known for its Bidri handicraft products. It has been ranked 22nd among the cleanest cities in India. Picturesque landscape, epigraphic edifices, the fort, the cannons, palaces in ruins, the magnificent tombs and the massive monuments make it memorable place to visit. With the addition of Universities, Medical Institutes and Engineering Colleges, Bidar is fast developing as hub of Educational institutions and Learning Center for the aspirants.
